Why this program exists

India’s growing healthcare needs for the elderly and chronically ill have created a strong demand for trained professionals. Meanwhile, youth in underserved communities face:

Unemployment and lack of market-relevant skills

Limited access to quality skilling opportunities

Few pathways to formal employment

Who We Serve

The Aarogya Dhooth Skilling Program primarily supports individuals and families by bridging the gap between unemployment and the demand for care:

  • Unemployed youth from Tribal, Rural and underserved communities
  • Young men and women seeking formal healthcare sector employment
  • Families and patients requiring trained home healthcare support

By training professional providers, we respond to the rising demand for quality home healthcare.

What We Do

Through the Aarogya Dhooth Skilling Program, NICE Foundation delivers a comprehensive curriculum to ensure participants are prepared for the healthcare sector:

  • Structured training as General Duty Assistants (GDA)
  • Practical skills for home-based healthcare services
  • Exposure to patient care, hygiene, and basic medical support
  • Soft skills and workplace readiness training

Our program ensures all trainees are fully job-ready upon completion of their certification.

How the Program Works

Eligible unemployed youth are mobilised and selected in coordination with government systems under DDU-GKY guidelines.
Training is delivered through 30-day or 45-day programs, depending on curriculum requirements. Options include day scholar and residential models combined with practical exposure.
Successful candidates receive formal certification, enhancing their employability and credibility within the healthcare industry.
Certified graduates are facilitated for employment opportunities in the healthcare sector, particularly in home healthcare services.
